Our Story

We met on a dating website in April of 2012, and hit it off because we both had pictures of our cars on our profile pages. David later told me that he was surprised to see a girl with a muscle car and that is what prompted him to message me.

After talking for a couple of weeks on the phone, we decided to meet and see where fate would take us. A year later, April 2013, David proposed at the Biltmore in North Carolina! It was pretty perfect – and in true fashion to “us” it was even really funny. Find the proposal shenanigans blog post to find out why!

May 2014, we were married at Lake Lyndsay in Ohio. Our love of cars were incorporated into our special day. Look for the post about how we turned boring table numbers into something super fun!

We both share the love of laughing and being completely goofy at times. There isn’t an argument that doesn’t end with one of us making the other laugh. If you are like David, smiling while singing/dancing is key to beginning each morning on a positive note, unless you are like me and not a morning person. 🙂

I’ve wanted to start this blog for a while now, but it never felt right. After a lot of conversation between David and I, prayer, and contemplating – here we are. I’m hoping this will be a fun place to learn, laugh, share ideas and recipes as well as grow together.

~ Leahsmess – southern gal raised on a farm in Kentucky, brought to Cincinnati for work. Lover of all things vintage, anything elegant, American Muscle cars, the outdoors, DIY, family and great food. The creative mind behind many projects and main contributor to the blog.

~ Davidsmess – a Cincinnati native who has a passion for American Muscle cars, DIY, hiking, great food, kayaking, building and creating. Makes Leah’s ideas, that are sometimes crazy, into a reality.
